Gynaecology ultrasound

Gynaecology ultrasound scan, also known as a pelvic ultrasound, images the female reproductive organs using sound waves to create detailed pictures of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, vagina, and cervix. Gynaecology ultrasound imaging can be used to:

  • Diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions in the female reproductive system, including:
    • Fibroids
    • Cysts
    • Endometriosis
    • Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
    • Uterine cancer
    • Ovarian cancer
  • Guide needle biopsies of abnormal areas in the female reproductive system
  • Monitor the development of a fetus during pregnancy.

Price for examination £225.

Fertility and follicle tracking ultrasound

Fertility and follicle tracking ultrasound scans are non-invasive imaging techniques that can be used to assess a person's fertility and track the development of follicles in the ovaries. Fertility ultrasound imaging can be used to:

  • Diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions that can affect fertility, such as PCOS, endometriosis, and fibroids
  • Track the development of follicles in the ovaries to determine the best time for ovulation
  • Guide intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures

Follicle tracking medical ultrasound is a valuable tool for couples who are trying to conceive. It can help them to understand their fertility better and to time their intercourse or fertility treatments more effectively.

Pre-IVF ultrasound examination is performed on around Day 5 of the menstrual cycle, involves the full gynaecology scan (uterus, endometrial thickening, ovaries, and surrounding structures) as well as the count and the measure of the most dominant antral follicles.

Price per examination £225
